Noe Valley Brewmasters
One of the things I love about living in San Francisco is that you never know what interesting and creative types you are going to meet. For example the other day I was strolling through Noe Valley and noticed two guys wielding aluminum paddles and hovering over a large barrel with a gas burner breathing fire from below. As luck would have it another inspiring San Francisco moment was unfolding right before my eyes and without hesitation I introduced myself as an aspiring winemaker curious to know more about their impressive beerworks. As it turns out Chris (left) and his partner Nick (right) have been making beer for several years in their Noe Valley “microbrewery” and in true brewmaster spirit they offered to trade a six-pack of their signature homebrews for a bottle of the recently released 2010 Notebook Cabernet. Of all their beers I have to say that the White Winter Ale is phenomenal. This beer is packed with all the beautiful citrus and hops goodness that comes with the care and pride these gentleman have imparted into their San Francisco love child. Notebook rating: Thumbs Up
